This is the story of a family’s intertwined stories and how their first artistic carpentry studio, opened in 1860, has turned into an international company, the protagonist of Italian design for its doors and partition systems.
In the ‘60s, with Vico Magistretti, Anna Castelli Ferrieri, Marco Zanuso, Luigi Caccia Dominioni, Lualdi experimented with and made doors and windows for the upper-middle-class families of Milan. From Milan, the heart of the company, in the ’80s Lualdi opens up to the world thanks to architects Carl Magnusson, design director of Knoll, and Emanuela Frattini, beginning a continuous internationalization process.
The designers Steve Leung, Andrea Boschetti from Metrogramma, Marco Piva, Piero Lissoni, Andrea Destefanis and Filippo Gabbiani from Kokai Studio and Philippe Starck will talk about today and the future.
The film will be available for 7 days from Friday, April 24 at 6PM.
Every week a new title will be on demand! Browse to find your film and take part with the hashtag #stayhome @musefactoryofprojects.
Coming next: a film about the man and the master of architecture and design, Gio Ponti.
